Aim of the Project

Their aim was to

  • highlight Corfu’s unique identity, musical and architectural heritage, and cultural assets
  • to expand the tourist season and encourage visitors to explore Corfu year-round.

The success of this effort required the contribution of various parties, including the Municipality, the Region, the Archaeological Service, the airport Authority, the Port Authority of Corfu, the Chamber of Commerce, merchants, and restaurant owners. For this initiative to succeed, all parties must act in the best interest of the island and the local community.

The Presentation

A series of meetings has taken place to propose collaboration and coordination between the leadership of the five associations, the Chamber of Commerce, the Holy Metropolis of Corfu and Paxos, the Catholic Archdiocese for religious events, the municipalities, the Ionian Islands Region, and other cultural, sports organizations, and businesses.  After several months, the five associations presented their idea to the Corfian Chamber of Commerce and requested a fund required for the creation of the site. In response to their request, they secured funding approval from the Chamber of Commerce to finance the creation of the calendar portal.
