6th CORFU FOOD & WINE FESTIVAL 2024 – CROSSROADS OF CULTURES @ FLAVORS

Sustainable Gastronomy is Our Culture

The international gastronomic festival, Corfu Food & Wine Festival, returns to Corfu for its 6th consecutive year, presenting a multi-dimensional experience of flavors and cultural exchange rooted in sustainability.

Corfu, a crossroads of cultures and flavors, invites different countries each year to participate through Embassies, Chambers of Commerce, and respective cultural and gastronomic organizations. The Festival aims to showcase gastronomy as a core aspect of the history and culture of Corfu and the Ionian Islands. The first recorded social significance of food here dates back to the hospitality offered to Odysseus in the land of the Phaeacians, highlighting the role of hospitality and gastronomy in daily life.

The festival is organized by the non-profit Ionian Inspires, with support from Corfu’s main institutions and organizations.

Participating entities include the Municipalities of Corfu, the Ionian Islands Regional Government, Ionian University, the Ionian Islands Tourism SAEC, Corfu Chefs' Club, Corfu Food Association, the Ionian Islands Agronutrition Partnership, Corfu Hoteliers' Association, Corfu Chamber of Commerce, AOCTA, the Corfu Association of Tourist Accommodation, and the Ionian Islands & Western Greece Guides’ Association.

Major support comes from Corfiot businesses Goggakis AEBE, Lazaris Distillery & Artisan Sweets, Corfu Microbrewery Corfu Beer, Corfiot Distillery Mavromatis, Paleopoli Quality Meats, Corfu Aquaculture, Fresh Co, Quality Fruit Center, and from hotel groups Angsana Corfu Resort & Spa and Voulgaris Hospitality Group.

Chef’s Masterclass at Art Debono Hotel, Gouvia, Corfu [11:00-13:00]

A Serbian cuisine masterclass by internationally renowned chef Ivo Andric, hosted for students of the Ionian Islands Tourism SAEC.

Sustainable Gastronomy Day: Mushroom, Forest’s Bounty, Elixir of Health

Scout Hall in Faliraki [19:00-22:00]

The Corfu Mushroom Club teams up with the Corfu Chefs' Club for a gastronomic journey into the world of mushrooms. The Ionian Islands Agronutrition Partnership will provide wine pairings from the islands. The event will showcase the Club’s zero-waste philosophy.
