The Lyceum Club of Greek Women of Corfu, founded in 1990, is a branch of the historic Lyceum Club of Greek Women established in Athens in 1911 by Kallirroi Parren. It is part of a renowned cultural institution dedicated to preserving and promoting Greek tradition worldwide.
The Corfu branch develops extensive cultural activity through seminars, performances, conferences, events, and research initiatives. It operates traditional dance groups, adult and children’s choirs, a traditional choir and percussion group, handicraft workshops, and contemporary movement classes, while maintaining strong social engagement.
The Association has represented Greek culture throughout Greece and abroad, participating in major cultural exchanges. It maintains an impressive costume collection featuring traditional Greek costumes as well as theatrical and baroque garments.
Since 2012, it has organized the unique urban Carnival of Corfu each Apokries season, featuring baroque music and period costumes, significantly contributing to the island’s cultural identity.
