The Skripero Philharmonic Society, founded on May 3rd, 1909, is one of the oldest and most important philharmonic institutions in Corfu, ranking as the fourth established on the island.
Based in Skripero, historically the capital of the former Apiliotes Municipality, the society was founded with the aim of providing music education to local youth and enhancing cultural life in the Corfiot countryside.
Over the decades, it has developed significant facilities, including a historic Venetian mansion and a fully equipped concert hall, supporting its extensive educational and cultural activities. Its music school offers training in theory, wind, and percussion instruments, shaping both musical skills and cultural awareness.
With a strong presence in public life, the society maintains multiple ensembles and participates in around 50 events annually, including concerts, ceremonies, and cultural appearances in Greece and abroad, with performances in cities such as Athens, Thessaloniki, and internationally in countries like Italy, Austria, and Poland.
