The Corfu Sailing Club was founded in 1977 as a branch of the Panhellenic Offshore Sailing Club (POIATH) of Athens and has evolved into one of the leading nautical sports organizations in the Ionian Islands.
Over the years, the club has organized numerous offshore sailing schools, introducing more than 1,200 young people to the sport of sailing and maritime culture. It has hosted major international sailing events, including the Half Ton World Championship in 1984, the Ionian Rally, Copa Magna Grecia, and the internationally renowned BrindisiβCorfu Race.
Since 1999, the club has also operated Olympic sailing programs for children, while its renovated facilities at Mandraki Marina host nautical, educational, and cultural activities throughout the year.
