The Covertura Choir was founded in October 2018 in Corfu by artistic director and conductor Dora Kolitsi.
Created with the aim of exploring a diverse and contemporary choral repertoire, the ensemble draws inspiration from tradition, musicals, pop, and rock music, both Greek and international.
Built on the uniqueness of each voice and personality, the choir shapes its sound dynamically, adapting each piece to its own character. This results in a distinctive energy that connects with audiences and leaves a lasting impression.
Covertura has performed in numerous concerts across Greece and internationally, including Serbia, Montenegro, and Turkey. The choir continues to grow its reputation, frequently receiving invitations to participate in festivals and competitions worldwide.
Each season includes participation in festivals as well as the preparation of two major themed concerts, featuring projects such as “Entechno-Rock”, “Rebetiko”, and “Tributes to Women”. In international appearances, the choir often highlights Greek musical heritage.
Participation in the choir does not require the ability to read music, but a basic sense of melody and rhythm is essential. Auditions take place throughout the season before rehearsals, every Tuesday and Friday from 17:00 to 19:00 in Faliraki.
