The Association of Relatives and Friends of Executed Political Prisoners of Corfu Prison “Lazareto” was established in 1983 following years of efforts by relatives and former fellow prisoners of those who were executed.
Its main purpose is to preserve historical memory and promote Lazareto as a place of remembrance. The Association organizes commemorative events and memorial ceremonies and has played an important role in protecting and highlighting the historic site.
Through its initiatives, it has contributed to raising public awareness and to the official recognition of Lazareto as a historic site requiring protection and special care.
