The Corfu Art Gallery presents “Engravings from the Corfu Art Gallery’s Collection”, an exhibition bringing together works from its printmaking collection.
The exhibition traces the development of engraving from Corfu into the wider Greek and international artistic landscape, presenting original works by important artists associated with the history of modern Greek printmaking.
Works by Markos Zavitzianos, Lykourgos Kogevinas, Dimitris Galanis and Nikolaos Ventouras are presented alongside those of later Corfiot artists, including Spyros Pogiagos, Giorgos Kefallinos, Aria Komianou, Spyros Alamanos, Giorgos Koulouris, Ioannis (Tzinos) Dimitratos, Giannis Pachis and Theresa Nicholas.
The exhibition includes original drawings, engravings and numbered, signed prints, revealing different techniques, themes and approaches to the art of printmaking.
